Morning on the Clavey

Two Thoughts:

1)

By chance, I sniff the passing stream breeze

The last memories of a waning night it brings

With a stretch and a yawn I start my leeward pee

Starring unknowingly in Alison’s time-lapse scene

2)

Sunlight drips, oozes, melts down Clavey canyon

Searching in riffles, pools, and eddies for long-lost salmon

But one glimpse, shimmer, or flash of this old river stallion?

A silent cry, as Morning sighs, lamenting its past companion
